Open skies rule called into question
An MHK says he's 'still not convinced' the Island's open skies policy is working.
David Ashford pressed the Infrastructure Minister, Ray Harmer, on the issue in Tynwald this week - after discovering air fares during TT week were as much as three times the normal rate.
Government has taken a free market approach to air travel for a number of years.
But Mr Ashford believes a mixture of open skies, and state-protected routes to key destinations, would keep flying sustainable:
