42-year-old appears in court
An Onchan man has appeared in court accused of committing an act against public justice.
Ross James Patrick Mcwhinnie, of Howe Road, allegedly reported a car as being stolen when he knew it wasn’t.
Magistrates at Douglas Courthouse were told it had been found abandoned after a police chase on 26 October last year.
Committal proceedings, where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery, will take place on 23 May; the 42-year-old has been bailed until that date.
Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 27 June Mr Mcwhinnie was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery - he will next appear there on 4 April 2025.
