Coastguard and DOI staff on pollution training
Coastguard and staff from the Ports Division of the Department of Infrastructure took part in a Joint Marine Pollution Exercise yesterday morning (Sat 26th)
The excercise by Batter pier, was based around a scenario which involved accidental oil drum spillage onboard a harbour pilot boat, also involved staff from Manx Petroleum.
A number of booms and water chambers were deployed to contain the imaginary spill and equipment including skimmers and temporary storage tanks were also used.
The exercise was successfully completed around 12.30pm.
