Employers on the Island were invited to find out more about the wide range of transferable skills and qualifications veterans offer at a special event held today.

John Lewis is an ex-member of the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME).

He now works for Swagelok, and says there are often misconceptions when it comes to hiring ex-military personnel:
