Scented squishy toy poses choking, suffocation risk
The Office of Fair Trading says it's been made aware of a squeezable scented toy that is the subject of a recall.
The ‘Squishies Slow Rising Scented Squishy’ toy was made in China and is in the shape of a slice of cake, coloured pink and white with a strawberry on top.
The OFT says the toy presents two “serious” risks to children; choking - as the toy may be mistaken for food and small parts can easily become detached, and suffocation, as the plastic packaging could cover the mouth and nose, blocking the airways.
The OFT on the Island says the toy shouldn't be given to children and should be returned to where it was purchased or if this is not possible, disposed of safely.
