OFT chairman invites views on fuel prices

Members of the public are being given a chance to tell the government what they think about the cost of liquid fuel in the Isle of Man.

The Office of Fair Trading is examining the prices paid for unleaded petrol, high octane petrol products, diesel, kerosene and gas oil heating fuels and has launched the consulation exercise as part of the inquiry.

Comments must be made in writing either by post, email or fax.

A comments form has been added to the OFT's website as another means by which views can be submitted.

The OFT says anyone submitting comments should make clear any information they would wish to remain confidential as relevant material may be included in the final report to the Council of Ministers.

OFT chairman Bill Henderson, MHK, said: "I have ensured that members of the public, organisations and commercial interests have this valuable chance to put forward views on this important subject that affects everyone, directly or indirectly.

"This is your chance to contribute to the inquiry.

"This investigation will get to the bottom of concerns which have been expressed to the OFT and to me personally about this issue."
