The new principal of Isle of Man College says he hopes to expand education and training opportunities for the entire Manx community.
Geoff Draper takes up the post in January, setting the agenda for further and higher education for 5000 full and part-time students.
He succeeds Professor Ronald Barr who joined the education department as chief executive in September.
Mr Draper has had a 30 year career in the army, much of it spent in military education, both in the UK and overseas.
He wants to see the college offer courses which help Island residents train for life in a fast-changing world:
