Castletown Golf Club says one of its fairways has been virtually ruined by a driver who raced a car over it.
Extensive damage has been caused to the 5th fairway, the so called road hole, on Friday night.
The wet ground has been ploughed into large ruts and holes.
Press officer for the club Malcolm Lambert says greenkeepers have filled the deepest ruts but turf which has been ripped out in places will take longer to recover.
Police have been informed.
