Steam Packet resumes normal sailings
Heysham Authorities have confirmed that the obstruction at the entrance to Heysham Port has been cleared.
A piece of timber had become embedded in the seabed there during the recent stormsm, which meant vessels could only get in and out of the harbour during high tides.
This led to major disruptions for the Steam Packet scheduled sailings.
However, the company says it can no resume normal operations.
The Ben my Chree will sail for Heysham at 9.30pm this evening with a return at 2.30am tomorrow (Mon).
With effect from tomorrow's 8.45am departure to Heysham, the Steam Packet says the advertised schedule will be in operation.
CEO Mark Woodward has expressed his thanks to Heysham Port for working to clear the obstruction as quickly as possible . . and has thanked the public for their patience.
