1 in 4 five year-olds classed as overweight
Obesity figures on the Island are meaningful when viewed in comparison with England.
So says Director of Public Health Dr Henrietta Ewart.
Dr Ewart has just released her latest report which claims the Island is part of the 'obesity epidemic', affecting Britain, and expanding waistlines are one of the 'greatest challenges' from a health perspective
She says despite obvious differences between the Island and England, the comparison is relevant.
According to Dr Ewart's report, one in four five-year-olds is classed as overweight or obese, along with two thirds of adults - figures with are similar to those in England.
