Former Isle of Man Chief Constable Robin Oake has been honoured by the Queen for his services to the Order of St John.
The 73-year-old, who now lives near Shrewsbury, was given a Queen's Police Medal in Her Majesty's birthday honours list.
He says he accepted the honour on behalf of the St John organisation (listen to audio file below):
Mr Oake's son, Detective Constable Stephen Oake, was stabbed to death during an anti-terror raid in Manchester in 2003.
