The Island's Overseas Aid Committee is now allowing funding for larger long-term development projects.
It has opened up a new funding round where support of between £50,000 and £100,000 per year can be allocated, for a period of three years.
The committee has already completed its small grants funding round for the 2009/2010 financial year and has given support totalling £800,000 to 18 charities, working in a number of developing countries.
