Nuclear test compensation case adjourned

A panel of seven United Kingdom judges will decide next year if the country will follow the Isle of Man and compensate ex-servicemen and women who were exposed to British nuclear tests.

After a campaign by Eddie Lowey MLC, those involved in the tests who live on the Island received £8,000 in 2008.

But in Britain veterans have had to fight a long legal battle against the Ministry of Defence, which has ended up at the Supreme Court in London.

The case has now been adjourned, with a decision expected in the New Year.
