Gathering to remember venue's heyday
If you have fond memories of great times at the Palace Lido in Douglas, there's a chance to wallow in nostalgia next weekend.
"Palace Lido Through the Ages" will highlight the phenomenal success of the entertainment complex through several decades, from the ballroom to disco era.
In its heyday, up to 4000 people would regularly pack the main venue - while an adjoining bar and night club also became popular meeting places.
The Lido, which stood on the site of the Palace Hotel's current car park, was demolished in 1994.
The event in the Cushag suite on Saturday 5 March in the Palace Hotel will include a photographic display, talk and tea in the afternoon, with a disco to follow in the evening.
