Noble's advises minor injury patients go to Ramsey Cottage Hospital

Decision made to reduce Emergency Department demand

Nobles Hospital is asking all patients with minor injuries to go to Ramsey Cottage Hospital Minor Injuries Unit.

This includes:

• Sprains and fractures
• Cuts
• Burns and scalds
• Skin and wound infections, including abscesses
• Broken bones
• Nosebleeds
• Foreign bodies in eyes, nose, ears or skin
• Minor neck and back injuries
• Rashes
• Minor illnesses

The unit has expanded X ray department hours and the MIU is also able to issue emergency contraception.

It's hoped these measures will help reduce the demand on the Nobles Emergency Department.
