No word on Thomas Cook fate

There's still no word on the future of the Island's Thomas Cook branch, after the travel agent yesterday confirmed it was looking to shed 2,500 jobs across the British Isles, and close a further 195 shops

It is understood that most of the job losses will come from back-office and retail positions.

The shake-up saw the firm enter a 90-day consultation process with those affected.
