
Castletown MHK Richard Ronan says his departure from the Department of Social Care has been entirely amicable.
He’s announced he’s stepping down as a departmental member, citing a crucial policy disagreement over plans to phase out over-the-counter benefit and pension payments.
Mr Ronan says he can’t continue in the post with such a fundamental difference of opinion, even though he supports the reforms Minister Chris Robertshaw is making.
But he says there was no furious row, angry resignation letter or door-slamming:
