Shake-up of driving laws in England and Wales responding to 'different risks', says minister

The infrastructure minister says the Island has no plans to follow the shake-up of driving laws announced in the UK.

The proposals could see motorists over 70 in England and Wales banned from the roads if they fail compulsory eye tests.

Other possible changes include reducing the drink-driving limit to bring legislation in line with Scotland - and introducing penalty points for passengers not wearing a seatbelt.

But Michelle Haywood says the government across is responding to issues that aren't as prevalent here:
