Plans to refurbish the NSC athletics track area do not include provisions to improve what's been described as the "poor design" of the grandstand.
Tourism and Leisure Minister Martyn Quayle told Tynwald in the current financial climate a new grandstand, or a complete redesign of the existing one, was "hardly a priority".
Mr Quayle was replying to a question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran who, among other things, asked if anything would be done to make the grandstand more sheltered for spectators.
Mr Quayle said the current structure was merely going to be repaired:
Douglas Council says it's currently 'assessing' damage to sunken gardens
Ramsey MHK concerned 'balance is not right' with flood defence plans
Isle Be Ready sessions about 'building resilience'
Pressure group calls for 'good governance'
