No overnight camping at Sulby Claddagh in 2023

Consultation to follow as site has become 'unsustainable'

Campers won't have the option to stay at Sulby Claddagh overnight during the 2023 season.

The toilet block at the government-owned facility has been condemned and needs to be demolished.

Government says the site has become unsustainable in its current form due to rising maintenance costs, and is being run at a significant loss.

A consultation to gather views on the future operation of the campsite will be carried out.

The area will still be open for people to use during the day.
