No-one singled out says Brown

The Chief Minister has told Tynwald no-one in the departments involved in the Childcare Inquiry have been held to account in relation to capability.

Tony Brown was answering a question from North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson, who wanted to know if anyone had been taken to task over the serious deficiencies highlighted in the report.

In his written response, Mr Brown also reminded members of what the Commission of Inquiry into the Care of Young People told the Council of Ministers in May 2006

It was stated that 'none of the actions or failures of the departments or agencies of Government led directly to the deaths of these young people', referring to Samantha Barton and George Green.

However, Mr Brown stresses there have been extensive reviews of the services for young people with emotional and behavioural problems, which are leading to substantial changes in what's provided for them.
