
A candidate standing for the House of Keys in September says the government needs to do more itself, rather than hand jobs to consultants.
Taxi firm boss Paul Heavey, who’ll contest the general election in Michael, says too often the government simply hands over cash to specialist advisors rather than oversee their work properly.
Mr Heavey says with money as tight as it is, more expert advice should be sought on-Island instead.
And he says he’d like to see departments doing more instead of contracting services out.
