Commissioners say it will be 'disappointing' for the community
A 'community craft brewery' will not be established in Castletown's old fire station because of the closure of Monkey Brew Co.
The commissioners say it consulted with legal advisors and decided it wouldn't be 'appropriate' to offer a lease for the project.
They also say they will seek input regarding its long term use but the fire station site remains a 'crucial strategic location' for the town.
Chair of the local authority, Jamie Horton says the commissioners 'remain committed' to supporting economic growth and 'enhancing facilities' within Castletown.
