Sure Mobile customers in Laxey may be out of luck for days as the company says it won’t be able to restore services until engineers can get to the top of Snaefell.
The firm’s mobile network in the village was knocked out on Tuesday because of the extreme weather conditions.
But Sure staff couldn’t reach the transmitter station yesterday (Wednesday) and the company says until either the Mountain Road is reopened or conditions improve, there’ll be no signal in the area.
Weather forecasts say it could be a week before the necessary work can be carried out.
The company has apologised to customers and says, while it wants to restore the network, the safety of its staff must come first.
