An MHK has brought an unecessary cost, incurred by some learner drivers, to the attention of the House of Keys.
At this week's sitting, member for North Douglas John Houghton asked Transport Minister David Anderson to consider changing the system which requires learners who fail either the hazard perception or theory tests to resit both.
Mr Anderson said there would be significant costs in making such a change, as the system was only approved by Tynwald in February.
Mr Houghton says the present system is fundamentally unfair:
