Government tracking UK developments amid consideration to implement Online Safety Act 2023
Government says it has no current plans to ban social media for under-16s but will continue to monitor international debate on the issue.
Chief Minister Alfred Cannan says if the UK were to restrict access for under-16s, the Island would consider whether it should act in step.
The Online Safety Act 2023 includes an extent clause allowing some or all of its provisions to be extended to the Isle of Man.
Mr Cannan adds the Department of Education, Sport and Culture has already taken 'pragmatic steps':
