There was to be no fairy tale ending for Ellan Vannin at the ConIFA World Football Cup in Sweden.
After battling through to the final they lost 5-3 on penalties to French side Nice after the game ended nil all.
Earlier in the competition Ellan Vannin had defeated the French team 4-2.
Whilst a disappointing end for the battling Manx side, getting through to the final was still a marvellous achievement, after they started out the 12 team competition as 250-1 outsiders.
