No evidence bomb hoax threat originated on IoM

Police decline to say if any arrests have been made

Enquiries are continuing after a bomb hoax at an Island secondary school in March.

Police have confirmed to Manx Radio that there is no evidence that the threat – which saw QEII evacuated on 27 March – originated on the Isle of Man.

Armed police surrounded the school, and Peel Castle, after an email was sent claiming there were explosives at both sites; searches were conducted but nothing was found.

In a statement, the Isle of Man Constabulary says: "Enquiries are continuing. There is no evidence that the threat originated on the Isle of Man, but if anybody has relevant information they are encouraged to report what they know to the police directly or via Crimestoppers."

Officers declined to say whether any arrests have been made or if anyone has been charged in connection with the incident.
