Enterprise Minister says data still being collated
There'll be no moves to develop infrastructure for the cruise industry on Island until government has evidence it would be worth the investment.
That's according to Enterprise Minister Lawrence Skelly, who was speaking on Manx Radio's Sunday Opinion today (26 Nov).
Plans have been mooted for the construction of a fixed deep water berth in Douglas harbour to receive the latest cruise liners - estimates suggest it could cost £40 million.
The Positive Action Group is hosting a public meeting to discuss the issue tomorrow evening at the Manx Legion Club in Douglas from 7:30pm.
Mr Skelly has warned that no action will be taken without full consideration of all data available.
He says many cruise tourists want to comeback here, but at present bad weather means we're an unreliable port of call:
