Treasury as shareholder received report from non-executive directors
The treasury minister says a report he received from the Steam Packet showed there was no breakdown in governance over crew isolation rules.
Alfred Cannan told Tynwald today he'd commissioned a review into the matter by the non-executive directors of the publicly-owned ferry company in February.
He says as the sole shareholder he was satisfied with its conclusions, and it was for other authorities to examine the legal interpretations of direction notices.
There was praise for the crew who Mr Cannan says have served the Island with professionalism and deserve our admiration and respect.
Mr Cannan explained to the Court he hadn't shared the review with other ministers to maintain the separation of information and evidence:
