Long service has helped raise Island's profile
The deputy chair of Isle of Man Newspapers has received an MBE for services to the community, after 40 years on staff.
Also a magistrate and charity trustee, Trudi Williamson has been named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
She is cited as having actively worked to raise the Island's profile through the annual Awards for Excellence, which provide a showcase for Manx businesses, and attract both sponsorship and a wide audience.
Like all honours recipients, she had to keep the news from her family, friends and colleagues for several months.
Ms Williamson described her reaction when the Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney gave her the news:
