Horse tram service could be reduced by a quarter
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer says it's for the new Tynwald give clear direction on the Douglas Promenade redevelopment plans.
The Department's latest plans will be put before the court next week and recommend the renewal of twin horse tram tracks in the centre of the prom - but only between Broadway and Summerhill.
This flies in the face of a decision made by Tynwald in July, at which it voted to retain the horse tram service along the WHOLE length of the promenade.
Mr Harmer says whilst he remains committed to the trams - his department has re-visited the plans with an eye to the constraints in place.
