Manx Utilities planning to spend £2.9 million on new facility

A new treated water reservoir and pump station is being planned for Jurby.

Manx Utilities wants to build a £2.9 million facility near Ballamenagh Road to enhance the water supply.

It's also hoped to facilitate future expansion in the village as part of the Area Plan for the North and West.

John Wannenburgh MHK, Chair of Manx Utilities, says: "I would like to thank the Jurby Commissioners for their invaluable support in advancing this crucial project for the North.

"This new reservoir is vital for the expansion of Jurby and will secure water supplies for years to come."

The project will be led by the Principal Contractor, Paul Carey & Sons, with construction set to begin on 9 June, and expected to be completed within 12 months. 

Manx Utilities says the location has been carefully chosen to minimise disruption to local residents, and once finished, the reservoir will blend seamlessly into the landscape.
