New plane tax could cause problems for Island

Senior executives from FlyBe have held talks with the Island's Chief Minister, to discuss fears over the introduction of a new tax on air travel.

The UK government is considering replacing Air Passenger Duty with a 'per plane' tax.

That's a major worry for airlines serving the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and UK regions.

FlyBe says a charge on planes, irrespective of how many passengers are on board, could make some routes unviable.
