First reading of the Local Government Bill in HoK today
A piece of legislation going through the House of Keys today (13 June) could make it easier for residents to access minutes from local authority meetings.
Infrastructure Minister Chris Thomas says the Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2023 'updates' and improves the operations of the Island's commissioners.
He believes it will also clarify boundary areas and the way byelaws are taken to Tynwald.
Minister Thomas says he has spoken to the local authorities ahead of bringing it forward:
Vote on Castle Rushen High School funding 'very unlikely' before election
