Post Office believes location is 'very convenient'
There will be a new parcel collection site in Castletown from the end of this month.
S&S Motors is taking over from the Co-op, which operates the local post office in the town.
That means from Saturday 31 August, residents of Castletown and the surrounding areas who've missed a delivery at their home address can collect their parcels from the business on Alexandra Road.
Isle of Man Post Office sought expressions of interest for a new provider of the service, after the Co-op tendered its resignation due to space restrictions at the Castletown Square store.
Geoff Rickard from the post office said: "We believe the new location will be very convenient, providing ample parking and also has the additional benefit of being open seven days a week, from 7am to 9pm."
As of the same date, IOMPO will be closing the customer counter at the Southern Delivery Office, based in Ballasalla.
All other services the Co-op provides at Castletown Post Office will be unaffected, as will the collection of parcels from the other post offices in the south.
