Janet Thommeny elected unanimously
The new mayor of Douglas says she's keen to inspire 'civic pride'.
Janet Thommeny was elected unanimously at Douglas Council's annual meeting yesterday (11 May).
She'll serve until May 2023.
Council leader Claire Wells described her colleague as a 'hardworking, honest, caring member of the community’ and someone whose friendship and valued opinions could be relied upon.
Three charities have been selected for the charity appeal – Isle Listen, Heroes on the Water and the Search and Rescue Dog Association Isle of Man.
