Inspired by director's childhood experience during his mum's treatment
It's hoped a new Manx short film will show that stories involving cancer can have a happy ending.
Dark Avenue Film has launched a kickstarter campaign to fund its latest project, Shutter Speed.
It's based on director Patrick Crellin's real-life experience as a child of going on 'holiday' with his mum to Liverpool while she underwent treatment.
Despite stats showing that half of those who get a cancer diagnosis live for at least another 10 years after treatment, the vast majority of movies don't show that side.
Patrick Crellin and Bethany White are from Dark Avenue Film and have been telling Amy Griffiths more:
You can find out more about the project here.
