Douglas Borough Council is spending £80,000 on improving the quality of the public toilets in the Market Hall.
A largely vandal-proof, marble design has been approved which, it is claimed, will set a new standard for such facilities all over the Island.
The Council owns and maintains eight sets of public toilets and council leader David Christian hopes they will all be refurbished to the same standard in the future.
