MHK quit over Manx Gas regulatory deal
The former vice-chairman of the Office of Fair Trading says he hopes the Island will get some new competition laws soon.
Chris Thomas MHK was speaking after Tynwald questions yesterday, when a voluntary regulatory agreement between the government and Manx Gas was discussed during questions.
Mr Thomas resigned from the OFT over the deal, and says the Island needs a regulator with teeth to take companies to task when needed.
But he says new laws to spur competition and punish anti-competitive behaviour have been put back by the government:
