
Infrastructure Minister David Cretney says the Island will soon be getting its first new Highway Code for 20 years.
This morning in the House of Keys, West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas asked him how the UK’s code relates to the Island.
Mr Cretney told him we’re our own country with our own code – but it is closely based on the UK’s rules and a new set of Manx rules is being put together by his department.
And he revealed there are different ways a Highway Code can be produced:
