'Thirty' includes pieces by world-class artists
A new art exhibition opens at the House of Manannan today (11 March) to mark the 30th anniversary of the Isle of Man Art Council's Loan Collection.
The exhibition, called simply 'Thirty', includes pieces by world-class artists such as Michael Craig-Martin, Anish Kapoor and Robyn Denny along with contributions from young British artists of the 1990's such as Jenny Saville and Tracey Emin.
The Art Council Loan Collection was established in 1993 by local artist and teacher, David Fletcher. He was its curator and together with his wife, fellow artist Eileen Schaer they toured the UK and beyond to purchase prints, paintings and photographs.
