The new Archdeacon of the Isle of Man has been officially installed.
Canon Andrew Brown was officially given the title at a service at the Cathedral Church of St German in Peel yesterday afternoon (Sat)
In what is the beginning of a new era, the Very Reverend Nigel Godfrey, vicar at Peel Cathedral, was installed as Dean of the Cathedral during the service, a role which has historically been carried out by the Lord Bishop.
Mr Colin Finney was also installed as a Lay Canon of the Cathedral. The new Archdeacon was installed as Vicar of St George’s Church in Douglas this morning.
In his sermon, Bishop Robert took the opportunity to re-establish the Cathedral Church of St German as an important centre in the life not only of the Anglican Church, but of the Island’s Christian community in general.
