
Chief Minister Allan Bell says government plans to bring in new equality laws as soon as possible.
He made the pledge this morning in the House of Keys after being asked for a statement on the matter by South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft.
The issue made headlines across the world after Manx Radio revealed a gay couple had been refused a flat in Ramsey because of their sexuality.
But Mr Bell told the House that wasn’t the sole motivator for the proposed new laws:
