Douglas Council has selected a candidate to become the town’s new mayor.
Councillor Thomas Gelling represents Athol Ward.
He was selected at a special private meeting on Friday – but the decision will need to be confirmed at a council meeting on May 13.
Councillor Gelling, who lives in Willaston, sits on several of the corporation’s committees, including policy and resources, public health and housing, public works and boundaries.
