A Manxman has been appointed to be new Deputy Governor at the Isle of Man Prison in Jurby.
Nigel Fisher is only the second Manxman to attain governor grade, following Deputy Governor in charge of residential services Paul Skillicorn, who was promoted last year.
Mr Fisher takes on management responsibility for regimes and resettlement.
The forty six year old joined the Civil Service at 17 and became a Prison Officer in 1987.
He's worked up through the ranks becoming Residential Principal Officer in 2001 and latterly Principal Officer Security and Operations.
Prison Governor Alison Gomme says Mr Fisher will bring an energetic approach to an essential part of their work in reducing re-offending.
