
Rushen MHK Phil Gawne says he’ll try to amend Tynwald’s rules to avoid important debates being cut short.
Last week, he wanted to speak out on tuition fees for students – but was frustrated when members moved to go straight to a vote.
He says when important issues are at stake, there should be more consideration given to those who want to participate in the debate.
And he says he’ll try to persuade members to back new rules:
