MHK prompted Tynwald debate on subject in 2020
The impetus for the Isle of Man to introduce legislation for assisted dying may increase if Covid-19 travel restrictions are eased.
That's the view of the Ramsey MHK who prompted a Tynwald debate on the subject in January 2020.
Last week Jersey - following a landmark decision by the Jersey States Assembly - voted to approve the principle.
Dr Alex Allinson says easier travel would enable a fully informed discussion on what is, for many, a very difficult subject:
Meanwhile one person who's in favour of assisted dying is Millie Blenkinsop-French.
She's twice petitioned Tynwald on the matter - once in 2014 and then again in 2019.
She told Manx Radio recent events have strengthened her position and the sooner such legislation is brought in the better:
