Scott Gallacher takes up his role in September
There's a new Chief Officer in the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
Scott Gallacher is expected to take up his role in September, taking over from Ste Stanley who is now executive director of Urban Regeneration in the Cabinet Office.
Mr Gallacher has held a number of senior executive roles within the New Zealand Government in areas like animal welfare, biosecurity, fisheries, food safety and forestry.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Gallacher said he cannot wait to get started and looks forward to working with the team at DEFA.
DEFA Minister, Clare Barber added his extensive background and experience makes him a valuable addition to the Department.
