Historian and author examines 19th and 20th century leisure facilities
An historian and author says he's surprised no-one has written about the Isle of Man's 'great period of entertainment' before.
John Manley's latest publication is called 'Pleasuredomes and Picture Palaces - The Story of Seaside Entertainments on the Isle of Man'.
It looks at the growth of theatres and other leisure facilities through the 19th and 20th century.
He told Manx Radio about his motivation for writing the book:
